“oh, herro!”
for my birthday, the boyf got me a gift certificate to get tattooed. i’m getting a fox, and i really like this guy’s coloring.

24degrees (“feels like 14degrees”) currently in portland. it’s been a lovely weekend thus far: whiskey drinks & bike rides & heavy music & sunshine & compliments & vietnamese food.
when i woke up this morning, everything was crusted over with a light frost.
i think it’s going to be a good weekend. i’m meeting up with a north carolina girl (she’s new to portland) tonight. i’m volunteering at the pixie project (http://www.pixieproject.org/) for the first time tomorrow. bastard noise, nux vomica, and thrones tomorrow night.
money has been REALLY tight, but luckily ‘tis the season for pet sitting gigs. i’ll be watching maisie, the seven month old basset hound. and possibly two other dogs.
well, this is an oversimplified and shallow update, but this is also an oversimplified and shallow medium. i would rather discuss these things over a cup of coffee. come to portland?
jamey and i made pancakes and sausage for lunch. his meal wasn’t vegan but mine was. i put blackberries from his backyard in my pancakes. gus van sant is filming his new movie in our neighborhood. like, two blocks from my house. we took lucy for a walk and scoped it out. it’s so sunny today! it hasn’t really rained in days.
beth and sarah left yesterday afternoon. back to the motherland. i hate to be righteous or smug about my new home but i’m happy to be here and not there. although i love south carolina until the day i die. i had a wonderful time while they were here. highlights include: a non-traditional but seasonally and regionally appropriate vegan thanksgiving dinner; the columbia gorge and multnomah falls; watching the sun set over mt. hood; watching the sun set from the top of mt. tabor; various local landmarks and lots of amazing meals, and no rain! i’ll post pictures once beth and sarah send ‘em my way.
jackie o is doing well. she seems to remember me and doesn’t seem to resent me.
i’m broke and i don’t feel like going to the gym tonight.
it looks and feels like springtime today.
i’ve only been smoking a cigarette or two a day, for about two weeks now. it’s making me neurotic. and making my respiratory system hurt.
jackie o will be here tomorrow.
i only get one day off this weekend, but that’s because i don’t have to work while beth and sarah are in town. they’re bringing jackie o! i can’t wait to have my little cat back, and to see two of my best friends.
i have accepted that i’m probably not going to see the sun again until june (not [much of] an exaggeration). so far the weather hasn’t bothered me; it’s just something i realize is part of my life now.
i’m a different person, since i last saw beth and sarah and jackie o. i’m not nearly as righteous, but i’m also not nearly as confident. i take better care of myself physically but not so much creatively. these are things i’d like to work on.
this winter is going to be fucking great!
currently reading the restless northwest: a geological story. had a rainier beer at the base of mount rainier last weekend. saw mount adams, mount st. helens, and mount hood on our way back into portland.
chuck refers to columbia as “back home” but it’s just not home anymore to me. of everyone to move to portland from columbia, i’m the only one who hasn’t come back to visit. hopefully i’ll make it out there someday soon though.
dead meadow’s feathers is the perfect album for this time of year.
1. tropic of capricorn is kinda weak, so i started reading freeing keiko: the journey of a killer whale from free willy to the wild.
2. hp was just in town for two days. i want her to move here and be my roommate again, at which point we will listen to nasty music and talk about astrology.
